The television news is getting very hard to watch as I’m turning into an even more cynical bastard than I already was. I really should go and buy one of those foam rubber bricks to throw at the tele each night from 7-8pm. Y’see, I gave up on commercial television news about 8 months ago because it is shite. Now I watch the ABC from 7-8pm while in the midst of a feeding frenzy. Kerry’s good value. His ears do distract me but I like him. He goes for the jugular a little more than other current affairs hosts. 9 might as well have Richard Wilkins hosting ‘A Current Affair’ and 7 should just shut up shop and save their shareholders’ money. Either that or exist solely to replay old episodes of the Tellytubbies. Anyway, now I’ve been banned from watching all news broadcasts by my wife because last night I said the ‘c’ word 21 times during one current affairs interview (so I’m told…I certainly didn’t count, I was on a roll…unstoppable).
It was Ruddock’s fault (7.30 report last night). He just makes me shiver. That face. That snarled lip. That unmistakable, slowly spoken, cold-as-ice voice. Oeerrr. He’s Monte Burns to a tee. I bet he even has an assistant that looks like Smithers.
