Whoah! What a weekend. I
Whoah! What a weekend. I had had enough by the time Sunday came around, so that’s why I didn’t even turn the computer on to update this blog. My cricket club had it’s presentation night at the Richmond Town Hall on Saturday night. Of course I did some warming up at the ‘Leinster Arms’ in Collingwood at 2pm that day. Good beer there and it’s one of those pubs that just ‘feels’ good. It’s a local and doesn’t need to throw specials at the punters to get them in the doors. Didn’t get home until 4am on Sunday morning. That made it 14 hours of boozing. Nearly a record for me I think.
Had a shit of a day today. Woke up and was already 40 minutes late for work. Considering that in peak hour it takes 20 minutes to drive the 3 km’s to work, it put me well behind for the day. At least the boss was OK. He just called me a ‘dufus’ which I found quite amusing.
My webhost hasn’t got back to me. This isn’t a good start. I want to get tamesapin.com online as soon as possible. The pricks have had my credit card details for 4 working days now and I haven’t even heard a boo out of them. If I don’t hear by Wednesday I will be forced to cancel all dealings with them. Then maybe I will name a nd shame them on this blog. Yeah! Somehow I don’t think their business will be harmed judging by the amount of hits I get per week.
tamesapien.com is nearly up and
tamesapien.com is nearly up and running. By this weekend I will be redirecting traffic from this geocities site to my domain. Ahh, another dotcommer on the block. I really do hope that one day I find something useful to say. Well shit me, why am I bothering then! (mumble mumble) All I am waiting for is the new server info and redelegation stuff. Can’t wait. A labour of love?
Have just got myself Dreamweaver 4. Not bad and it will take me a while to get used to it. Up until now I did all my coding in Wordpad. Kind of preffered working in the raw like that. The thing that surprised me was that Homesite comes with the Dreamweaver 4 package. Macromedia have been on a buying frenzy huh? They probably got it cheap too.
Hi Bea, if you are
Hi Bea, if you are reading this.
PUBLIC HOLIDAY TODAY! Anzac day to be precise. It’s now 1156 and I have just awoken from my slumber. What to do? Melbourne has sunshine for the first time since last Friday afternoon so I might venture out into the great outdoors. I hope I don’t get attacked by any drunken soldiers though. On Anzac day two years ago, I walked past ‘Young and Jackson’s’, a pub popular by tradition with ex and present servicemen, and got a stubbie thrown at me by a soldier in uniform. Needless to say he was pissed as a fart. It wasn’t actually thrown at me. An elderly asian couple was the target. Ahh, gotta respect the armed forces.
Singapore Airlines has a new service. Commercial email and internet access for passengers. This article also states that the on-board servers will supply audio/video on demand, offering 50 movies and around 100 CD’s worth of music. Innovation ‘eh.
This is probably the most
This is probably the most perfect working week. Two days on. Tomorrow is a public holiday, then two more workdays - then the weekend. Bugger the 36 hour week. Let the whole nation have every Wednesday off. Yee haa!!!
Read this…via virulent memes. It’s hard to believe isn’t it. The face of ‘globalisation’ is so kind. Nobody can tell me that everyone is going to better off because of it.
Found an excellent site for
Found an excellent site for getting wallpaper for your desktop…yes, I run Windows. It’s here. Don’t worry about the popup window. Let it come up. Whilst playing with the image that eventually appears, click on the white circles for a desktop image. There are plenty of very interesting ones there. Sorry I forgot who I obtained this link from….so whomever it was…Thanks!!
Not much else to add today. I don’t much feel like staring at a monitor tonight. I put it down to the dreaded ‘mondayitis’
The fucking Yanks are at
The fucking Yanks are at it again. Just a couple of weeks after they claim they were wronged over Chinese waters, they assisted the Peruvian Government in shooting down a light plane near Iquitos. The joke was on the septics though, as they shot down a few members of the ‘God Squad’ (a baptist minister). This is Yankee justice. Imagine what they do that we don’t hear about. WANKERS!
It’s been pouring with rain here in Melbourne - so I have locked myself in the house and am making sure all the links for this site work properly. It shouldn’t be too long at all until this site is redirected to www.tamesapien.com, my own domain.
Today…SBS Television…San Remo song festival. Yes, it’s that time of year again. If you are a media watcher, you cannot possibly miss this gem. It’s an Italian song competition which has the best in spilling breasts, old crooners and mullet adorned men singing love songs. However, the highlight for me was seeing Russell Crowe performing with his band. It was pure shite. What annoyed me more, was that he was wearing those ‘Bono’ sunglasses. Now we are going to see a proliferation of Hollywood ‘wannabes’ making music. I see Gywneth Paltrow has muscled in on the act now too. Let’s just hope Keanu Reeves doesn’t make a comeback with Dogstar. Stick to what you do best guys.
I am about to venture
I am about to venture to the MCG along with 80 000 other people to see two (Richmond and Collingwood) of the best Aussie Rules football clubs battle it out. May the best team win..(Richmond)
Blogging is getting painful. My
Blogging is getting painful. My good chair shat itself, now I find myself sitting on two milk crates turned upside down. Not the most ergonomic of ways to compute. Only an oversized beach towel separates my arse from a painful affliction called ‘waffle arse.’
For those of you unfamiliar with the term I will explain. ‘Waffle Arse’ (WA) is a common ailment associated with unplanned (or badly planned ) BBQ’s. ‘WA’ is when a cris-cross pattern is formed from sitting on an upturned milk crate for longer than health authorities advise.
That is all for today…I must get off the computer before I get ‘WA’ syndrome.
I saw an add on
I saw an add on TV just before for a show entitled - RAW SPICE. For ‘gadsake’! A documentary about the Spice Girls. Haven’t we already been through enough?
The reason I bring the above nonsense to your attention is that..well…I just recalled a hazy moment of my 2 years living in London. I remember being stuck in a traffic snarl (mid-1996) in Muswell Hill, North London. Not the most inspiring place to be stranded in. I remember that I was listening to Phil Jupitus hosting a morning chat/comedy show on GLR radio.(now known as Londonlive). He had the ‘Spice girls’ in the studio picking their favourite songs and talking about themselves. I remember Jupitus was getting really smart and making them look like total idiots. Anyone who chooses ‘Reggae nights’ as a influential song must be a nutbag. I can’t recall which ’spice’ picked that song, but I remember Jupitus having a red hot go at whomever chose it.
Thus, my claim to fame is that I heard the spice girls before most Australians ever had. WOW.
As to how this memory became etched into my neural network - I do NOT know! Such is the importance of weblogging.. the populus must know of these important memes!
It was hard to get
It was hard to get going this morning after a 4 day weekend. In a mad kind of way I’m glad we don’t get too many easter weekends. Mainly because at work there is 5 days of work to do in only 4 days…gotta hate that.
I thought MY post was a negative one yesterday, after all, it was a day I’d rather forget. At least I don’t get this shirty with existence (check out 16th April blog - hasn’t been archived so this link will be useless in a few weeks). Don’t worry Mr. Grudnuk, we all have days like that. Today was alot better once I heard that the next week is going to be cold and wet. Am looking forward to it after a stinking hot summer. Am surprised I got through today considering I had only 3 hours sleep. I awoke at 1230am and changed the colour of the scroll bar to the left—->. Also I got bored with a normal cursor and changed it to the ‘crosshair’ that you now see on the screen. Ahh, insomnia does some strange things to a fella’s brain.
Another perfect day weatherwise. I
Another perfect day weatherwise. I wish it would rain. I’m sick of this good weather.
Listening to ABC Newsradio this morning I hear that Australia’s weak as piss government is once again sitting on the fence. Weak goverment. We are going backwards. No wonder I am learning Spanish. In 10 years I will be able to escape this nation and seek a better life in Bolivia.
It’s one of those days
It’s one of those days today. Everyone has gone away and there is true peace in the neighbourhood. That’s what Easter is all about for me anyway. Stay at home, get everything done that I’ve put off all summer. For god’s sake, I could do the gardening in the nude and no fucker will ever notice. There is nobody around. Melbourne has emptied.
The aroma of burning meat is wafting over the suburb. There’s no barking dogs either. Somehow I think that they are otherwise occupied.
Got a bit tiddly last night. Had a few beers and cleaned up my bedroom which is full of boxes that haven’t been opened for years. Found old books, an awesome ‘Mad’ magazine collection from my early teens and not forgetting a huge collection of ‘Spin’, ‘Juice’ and ‘Rolling Stone’ magazines from 1988 until 1996. Don’t know why I stopped buying them. I’ll have to get the collection moving again. It’s amazing how much shit I have collected. I even found old diaries going back to 1984. Yes, I kept a diary when I was 12.
